Skoda Kylaq’s New Budget Variant Launching Soon – Affordable and Stylish!

Since its debut late last year, the Skoda Kylaq has proven to be a strong performer for the brand in India. This compact SUV has played a major role in helping Skoda improve its market position, moving up from 11th to 7th among India’s top carmakers in 2024. With over 40,000 units sold last year, Skoda is now setting its sights higher, aiming for annual sales between 75,000 and 1,00,000 units. The Kylaq is expected to remain a key driver in achieving this target.

New Mid-Spec Variant Coming Soon

To build on the Kylaq’s success, Skoda is planning to introduce a new mid-level variant of the SUV. This upcoming version will be positioned between the existing Classic (base) and Signature (top-end) trims. While there’s no confirmed launch date yet, the new variant is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of this year. It will include the features offered in the Classic model but will not have some of the advanced equipment found in the Signature trim.

Price and Engine Details

Currently, the Skoda Kylaq is priced between ₹8.25 lakh and ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which delivers 115bhp and 178Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission options are available. Skoda also claims that the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.5 seconds, making it one of the quickest in its category.
